Finally made it to Uluru.
We were traveling for 2 days to get here.
We were up fairly early on Monday morning organising a few things and making lunch while Ian was checking the battery as it seemed to be haveng trouble holding its charge. He decided to wait until we got to Alice Springs before we get another if needed.






We drove int Woomera, had a look at the rockets and airplains displayed there. This town would have been a busy place in its hey day. we went into the visitor information center and checked out the museum. There was a short film depicting the the rockets containing bombs that were exploded in London during world war 2, giving the reason wanted a place to experiment with their rockets and so Woomera was born.
The museum was filled with interesting displays of different types of rockets used in the area. There are still experiments going on at Woomera to this day although not as many people live there.



Driving from Woomera to our next stop, Tarcoonyinna Rest Area, 53km past Marla, was vastley different from the last time we drove through here. They have had some rain in the last few weeks and the ground was a richer color red, there was some greenery around and there was water in usually dry lakes, but it was still vast and flat.

Today we drove the last 480km to Uluru, again the landscape was pretty much the same as the last 500kms until we reached Curtain Springs, where diesel was $2.15lt, there was some hills and more bush, the desert had disappeared and been replaced by bushes and greenery, along with our first glimpse of the rock. The first wildlife we seen were 2 kangaroos shortly after leaving SA.

Arriving at the Uluru Resort we set up camp for 3 nights, no more early morning starts for at least 3 days.
