We have made it to Kununurra WA, we are going to spend a few days here having a look around the area.

Today we went for a drive out to Lake Argyle, this man-made lake is said to be the largest man-made lake in Australia. Whether or not it is just amazing, the water is so blue and there is so much of it.

There are many activities to do in and around the lake, you can go for a cruise or camp on the shores. I took some photos and Ian had a fish, he had some luck and caught one fish although a little small.

On the way to the lake we stopped at an old homestead that was painstakingly moved from where the lake stands to where it is now. This house had been in the same family for many generations and was a great example of the homesteads of the period. The community also moved the families headstones from what would have been the bottom of the lake.

Coming back out we stopped near the river that comes from the dam so as Ian could try his luck at fishing again, but with no luck.

We finished our day with a trip to a Sandlewood factory, which sold all sorts of products including perfumes, soaks and body creams. They also other eatable products you could buy. Then we went up the road a few hundred meters to the only legal rum distillery in WA. This was a nice way to end the day.

During our drive around we started to notice the famous Boab Trees that WA is famous for, these trees are incredible, their trunks are so large that it is said that if you put your ear to the trunk you can hear the water going up the trunk. Although I did not put my ear to any that we seen today I may do at a later date.
