Finally we have made it to Darwin, we go here yesterday afternoon (5^Th August) spent the afternoon setting up and catching up on the washing.

Today we went into Darwin itself and had a quick look around, Darwin has what seems to have lots of small suburbs around it, but we will explore more as the weeks goes by. We have booked into the caravan park for 2 weeks with the possibility of staying 3.

On the way here we went through Kakadu National Park and stayed one night in the park. We went on the Yellow River Sunrise boat cruise, which was the highlight of this detour.

We boarded a bus from the campground where we were staying at 6.30am and started our journey up the river.

The wildlife and birds were out in abundance, everything from Buffalo to the tiniest Kingfisher in Australia. We also seen some wild boar out in the distance, but the reason that everyone goes on this tour is to see the Crocodiles and we were not disappointed. There were quite a few putting on a show for us this morning, hunting and fighting for their territory.

The plants in the area were also spectacular showing how cleaver mother nature can be. We were there as the water in the rivers were receding and the animals and plants were fighting for the last little bit of water that would be left within a few weeks.

Again we were entertained by a knowledgeable local who kept us entertained even kept us guessing as to why at one point we were stopping and turning the boat around, turns out he spotted a fishing lure in the water that was good for catching Barramundi.

We arrived back to the jetty and boarded the bus back to the campground for a cooked breakfast supplied by our campground hosts.

We then packed up camp and headed to Darwin.
